Primark AW13 Preview

As the weather has taken a turn for the worse in the last couple of days I thought I'd give you a bit of Autumn inspiration! I'm already getting a bit eager for the pumpkin spice lattes to hit Starbucks, not to mention my Birthday and the start of my final year at university. I think Autumn always has that 'fresh start' vibe, and it's always nice to add a few new pieces to the wardrobe to accompany that feeling. So here's a preview into the beautiful Autumn / Winter range that's coming soon to a Primark near you...

All images sourced from Look Magazine

I've said it before and I'll say it again, Primark has seriously upped it's game recently. Over the past few months we've all spotted many a dupe for lusted after Zara and Topshop products, dipping its toe in the realms of quality fashion. Now they've released a preview of their next season range (some of which is already in stores!) and it's safe to say Primark have become a serious contender on the British High Street.

The 'grunge' trend always seems to come back in the colder months, and this year is set to be no different. Beanie hats, biker boots and a nod to YSL with a hella lot of tartan are sure to be Primark's best sellers. My personal favourite from the preview has to be the turquoise paisley trousers. Lord knows I love a printed trouser and I can definitely picture myself pairing them with those aubergine heels. Swoon. The dusty pink coat is another beautiful piece, I have one very similar only in grey, so will I need another one in pink as well? Who am I kidding, of course I will.

So what's your favourite item from the preview? Are you as excited for it to hit the stores as I am? I have a feeling this range is going to be Primark's biggest hit so far, as not only is it rivaling the likes of Topshop and Zara, but it's sure to be cheap as chips as well. Can't beat that!

Outfit | My 'go to' summer look

(Printed trousers, New Look. Crop top, Topshop. Heels, River Island. Necklace, Accessorize. Lipstick, Revlon lip butter 'Sorbet'.)

Oh lord. Yet another outfit post with the fringe crop top and a pair of printed trousers. I just can't get enough of this look this summer. I wore this particular version out for dinner a few nights ago with my best gal pal. We went to Dean's Diner, a 50s American style restaurant that sells coke floats, milkshakes, burgers, hot dogs, that sort of thing. It's super cute and the food is actually really nice. It was a beautiful hot evening so we sat outside, we had a lovely view of all the boats bobbing on the marina and the whole evening just had a really nice, calm vibe. Lovely!

I hardly ever wear these party shoes and whenever I fish them out of the cupboard for a night out I remember why. They're so painful. I'm not normally one for skinny stiletto heels because they are much harder to walk in than chunky ones, but somehow these ended up in my possession due to an exciting moment in the RI sale earlier this year. I absolutely love how they look, but unfortunately it's no pain no gain in these bad boys.

It's safe to say printed trousers and crop tops have been my 'go to' look for the last couple of months. I keep going back to them - I should really learn to mix it up a bit! What have been your fail-safe outfits this summer? Leave me some links to your ootd posts as I need some inspiration!!

A summery Instagram update

Hello wonderful people! I always enjoy to reflect over the last month or so by looking over my recent Instagram pictures, and this time they all possess quite a summery vibe. This season has been a bit of a funny one, it started out pretty miserable and it seemed like we were never going to have some nice weather, whereas recently it's given us a shock with some of the hottest temperatures in seven years! Although the heat has been pretty intense, it's given me some nice moments, for sure. For example, going to a restaurant and being able to sit outside. Buying new pretty lipsticks in summery shades. My new favourite drink, Crabbies raspberry ginger beer. And not to mention the occasional ice cream with bubblegum sauce.

I hope you've all been enjoying your summers so far!

Outfit | LBD

(Dress, Choies. Shoes, Zara. Lips, Revlon lip butter 'Wild Watermelon'.)

How beautiful is this dress?! I saw it on the gorgeous Georgia (who's style I cannot fault!) a few weeks ago and just knew that I needed to get my hands on it as well. I had £15 credit to spend at Choies and so the dress ended up being half the price it should have been, plus I paid nothing for delivery (and waited about a month for it to arrive instead...) so it was a pretty good bargain in the end. In Georgia's blog post she mentioned it was really short and BOY was she right. It's made of two layers of sheer fabric and the under layer is far too short. It's basically a top. So I have to wear something underneath it (just a very thin bodycon skirt or something) to maintain my dignity.

I used to be a sucker for an LBD and I own hundreds of the things, so adding to the collection was probably a little unnecessary. But the caging detail at the top is so ridiculously beautiful that I just couldn't help myself. I plan to wear it out when I'm in Brighton next month with my pointy toe Zara slingbacks and minimal jewellery. The neckline really speaks for itself so I won't wear any necklaces, but I might invest in some statement arm candy to pull the look together.

Whilst I'm on the topic of Brighton, does anyone have any recommendations for cool shops or bars that I should visit whilst I'm there? I hear there's a MAC store in the lanes so I'll obviously be stopping by there. I've only been to Brighton once before and I don't really remember what is there. So I need your expertise! (If any of you have any!)

Much love guys...

Review: Revlon Lip Butters

The rumours are true, friends. I am officially a sheer lipstick convert. I used to be all about the bright matte lip, and don't get me wrong I've not completely abandoned my old favourites. However, this summer I have been steering towards the sheer glossy colours at the Revlon stand. I have no idea why it's taken me so long to stumble upon this product as they've been around for ages. Where have I been?! Being a bit of a lip gloss fiend I suppose this sort of product never appealed to me before. That is all in the past now though, and I'm on a mission to build up my collection!

These lip products are quite sheer but can be built up to create lovely bright colours. So far I've got a coral, a pink, and a red, and for now I think that will keep me satisfied. But they also do an array of other colours which I'm sure will make their way into my make up bag in the near future. It's not all about the colour though, 'cause the formula to these bad boys is to friggin' die for. They're really moisturising and feel just like a lip balm. The only thing stopping them being the perfect summer lip product is that they melt. Really easily. Especially with this crazy heat we've been having in the UK for the last few weeks. I made the mistake of popping one in my handbag so I could reapply throughout the day and it all ended up in a bit of a mess. It was salvageable, thank God, but it's definitely lost it's perfect shape that the other two have.

Onto the colours...

First up! Tutti Frutti. This is a really gorgeous orange-y coral colour. It's perfect for summer and probably the one I've been reaching for most over the last few weeks. I love it because it's so wearable and you don't feel as self conscious as you might wearing a brighter matte orange.

Second, my most recent addition to the collection. Sorbet. It's a lovely bright pink and lord knows I can't resist a pink lipstick. I already had a red and an orange so adding a pink one to the equation seemed to make sense. It's a really pretty colour and I just know I'm going to get a tonne of wear out of it.

And finally, Wild Watermelon. This is the first of the lip butters I bought and this is the one that melted a bit (cry cry cry). It's a bright red colour but because it's still sheer I feel like I can get away with wearing it to work, or on a day to day basis. I think the reason I'm loving these lip butters so much is because they're so low maintenance. Application is a total breeze, unlike bright lipsticks which can be a bit of a faff. Being just like lip balms, they go on really easily and there's just no fuss. Being as lazy as I am this is probably why I've fallen so much in love with them!

So that's my review of the Revlon lip butters! If you have any recommendations for which colours I should buy next then throw them my way...

Colours of the Rainbow - Tag!

Hello and welcome to my very first tag! I've really enjoyed watching and reading other people's version of this post lately and so I decided to give it a whirl myself. I've bent the rules a bit because I just couldn't for the life of me find a beauty product that's indigo. I mean what even is indigo?! Well, anyway, I threw that idea out of the window and just used pink instead. I know some people have been using all the colours of the rainbow and pink and multi coloured items but I thought that all seemed like too much effort and so I've thrown my own lazy twist on the tag. I hope you can forgive me... and enjoy the post!

Red: Revlon Lip Butter 'Wild Watermelon'. For the red category it was obviously going to be a lipstick really, wasn't it? It was a difficult decision but I managed to narrow it down to one product, the Revlon lip butter. I have only just discovered these for some reason but they're definitely becoming my go-to summer lipstick. All the colours are gorgeous but I'm particularly fond of this sheer red one!

Orange: Rimmel 'Wake Me Up' Foundation. I've been pretty impressed with this foundation I must say. When I first bought it I was a little concerned about the whole shimmer situation but it really hasn't been a problem. Anyway, the lid was orange and it seemed like an obvious choice!

Yellow: Topshop nail varnish 'Bees Knees'. I've been going on and on about this nail varnish all summer. It's a really lovely summery colour and looks really great when used with a matte finish top coat. Lovin' it!

Green: Err, so I kinda cheated with this one. Soap and Glory 'Sugar Crush' body scrub. So the tub is kinda pink. But it smells like limes (limes are green) and there's a bit of green on the labels. Plus the product is kinda green, too. Kinda. Anyway I won't go on about this particular body scrub because I know you've all heard about it a million times. But it really does smell amazing.

Blue: My hairdresser recommended this to me and I've been impressed with it so far. Redken 'anti snap' leave-in treatment. As you all know I'm trying to grow my hair so anything that gives it extra condition and stops my ends splitting is a total winner for me. And it's blue!

Pink: My Original Tangle Teezer. I think I've spoken about this on many a blog post so you know how much I love it. Pink was actually a pretty difficult category as well but this time it was because I have too many favourite pink products! I narrowed it down to a few and eventually settled on the tangle teezer. It's a great product and a great colour.

Violet: For the violet category I've chosen my Real Techniques Shading Brush. Real Techniques are such an awesome brand and I can't get enough of their brushes at the moment. I thought about getting the eye starter kit that came with about four different eye brushes but I settled for just the shading one in the end, which was probably the right decision! It's a great brush, and it's also a great colour!

So there you have it! My 'Colours of the Rainbow' tag! I'm not going to tag any individual bloggers because I never know who has already done which tags and who doesn't like them, etc. But if you do happen to be inspired by the Colours of the Rainbow from this post and want to do your own then please leave me the link in the comments as I'd love to read it!

Hope you enjoyed this post... Let me know if there's any more tag posts floating around the bloggersphere that you'd like to see me do!

I wear the trousers

(Trousers, New Look. Top, Topshop. Necklace, New Look.)

Hello! So, how unbelievably excited are you about this wonderful weather we've been having?! When the sun comes out it automatically puts me in a good mood (even if I have been spending most of my time at work.) Almost every customer I've served has been buying a swimming pool for their garden and it's making me extremely jealous that I can't accommodate one right now. But still! I'm loving the sun.

Another great thing about the weather being so nice is that I can start wearing all the holiday clothes that I've been buying over the last few weeks! You all know I was hoping to go on holiday this year (because I talk about it all the time) but in the end I decided I didn't really have the money to fork out for a week abroad. So all the things I'd bought hoping to wear on the beach in a hot country (like the fringed crop top above), I can now start weaving into my wardrobe in England anyway. Hooray!

The trousers I'm wearing are actually very old and I can't even remember the last time I wore them! I had a few black bags full of old clothes lying around my room at home that my mum was going to give to charity. I wasn't even 100% sure what was in the bags but I told my mum to give them away because I figured it was all old stuff I didn't wear anymore anyway. In the end she persuaded me to have a quick look through before they were thrown away and I guess I'm kinda glad I did, because I found these huge palazzo style trousers!

Anyway, I'm off to get a very long overdue hair cut now. Catch ya later!

Beauty haul!

I have got to be the most conflicting blogger in the world. In my last post I said I had my 'saving head on' and I vowed not to go splurging my money, and today I'm posting a beauty haul. How does that work?! Well, the fact is, somehow I've managed to save a hell'a lot of money, buuuut I happened to be in town with my friend who was having a beauty shopping spree and so I ended up getting a few new make up bits as well. As a reward for working so hard of course! I haven't done a haul post in ages, so I don't really remember how to do them. But I'm pretty much just going to list the items for you. Plus I've swatched the lipsticks for you because I'm such a generous blogger. You're welcome.

Giant make up bag - Primark.
For ages now I've been cluttering up the spare room (where the big mirror is) with several little make up bags and carry cases with all my cosmetics in. It's been ridiculously unorganised and really untidy and just a generally stressful situation. But not anymore! I picked up this huge bag from Primark for small change and now everything is in one place. Finally! I have another bag inside this one which keeps my lip products in because I didn't want them all rattling around at the bottom. But it's all in one place. Hooray! Plus this bag is really pretty. So it's organised and beautiful. What could be better?

Real Techniques brush - Boots
I've got a few RT brushes but decided after a while of using the buffing brush that I needed the Expert Face brush in my life as well. It's a much better size for my foundation!

Eyeshadow brush - Topshop
I've been really getting into trying out eyeshadow recently and I have a Real Techniques shading brush but really wanted a bigger, fluffier one for blending, etc. I haven't tried this one yet but I'm hoping it'll do the job!

Sleek contour palette - Superdrug
Well I want to learn to contour. And it was cheap. So I got it.

Maybelline Falsies mascara - Boots
My trusty mascara combo ran out recently and so I've been on the hunt for a good replacement. Instead of repurchasing my old one that I liked I wanted to try something new, and for a while everything I've been trying has had a really FAT wand and I've decided I just don't like them. I like a thin wand that has a little curve (a spoon shape wand, if you will) and so I bought this one. Also I think I've seen Tanya Burr rave about it on her YouTube channel, and well I basically trust everything those YouTube gals say. I'm very easily influenced.

Benefit Brow Zings - Debenhams
I've been using an eyeshadow to fill in my eyebrows recently since my pencil ran out and it has been soooo much better. The only thing is the colour was slightly too dark. Anyway I decided I needed a proper eyebrow kit to tame the bad boys above my eyes and so I got this one. Benefit is like the king of eyebrows so it was a no brainer really.

MUA eyeshadow primer - Superdrug
Since getting all into my eyeshadow I decided I wanted to be fancy and get an eyeshadow primer. I was shown one at the Benefit counter but when I saw the price tag I slowly backed away. Not something I wanted to spend over £20 on so I settled for the (much more reasonable) MUA one instead.

Lipstick 'Beatnik' - Topshop
I don't have many lipsticks that aren't crazy bright colours and so I decided I really needed to fix that. You'll probably never catch me in a 'nude' lipstick and so this nice muted pinky/beige will have to do.

Lipstick 'Screen Siren' - Topshop
THE most beautiful red lipstick that I've ever seen in my whole entire life. (The picture doesn't do it justice.)

Collection Lipstick 'Pink Shock' - Superdrug
This lipstick is the brightest pink in the whole world. I literally look like ginger barbie(?!) when I wear it, but it was only £2.99 and it's all a bit of fun, right?

Revlon lip butter 'Wild Watermelon' - Boots
And last, but not least, my first ever Revlon lip butter. I know, I know, where have I been hiding?! I've always thought of myself as a bright or matte lipstick kinda gal and not ever been that into lip glosses. So lip butters seemed like they'd be a bit too shiny for me. Anyway, I'm a changed woman. I bought this on a total whim and I'm absolutely in love. Not only is it really light and creamy and wonderful but the colour is so perfect as well!

WELL, there you have it. Bit of a haul for you! This was a pretty wordy post, do you like this sort of thing? I don't normally go on big shopping sprees as I tend to buy things in dribs and drabs, so I sort of forget about doing hauls but hey maybe I can get organised and start keeping track of the stuff I buy if you like to read this sort of thing!

Let me know..

Bang Bang

(Hat, Topshop. Crop top, New Look. Shorts, Topshop. Shoes, Topshop. Necklace, Primark. Bum bag, Primark. Lipstick, MAC 'Rebel'.)

This outfit is all about rediscoveries. When I first bought my bowler hat I wore it all the time and then for some reason I put it in my wardrobe and left it there. Same goes for the tan brogues and the purple lipstick - they're all old favourites that I used to wear to death but they haven't seen the light of day in a while. Well, today I brought them all out from the dark corner they'd been hiding in and threw them all together to create this laid back outfit. I paired them with my new Topshop shorts that were featured in my June favourites post, and my amazing Primark bum bag that I do not wear enough!! They all work pretty well together, don't they?

Recently the sun has had it's hat on and we've been experiencing some true summer weather. I realise that this year I seem to have been wearing shorts a lot! I think they're my 'go to' in the hot weather. I used to be a summer dress kinda gal but it's been all about the shorts for me this year. It's probably getting a bit repetitive. But I can't help it.

I finally got paid the other day after being short of cash for what seemed like forever. I'm trying to save my money though because I have a road trip to Brighton planned next month and I have a feeling I'm going to go a little crazy in the lanes whilst I'm there. I've decided not to go on a summer holiday this year and so I'm going to make the most of my little weekend away instead. Plus I'm hoping to go away for my 21st Birthday later in the year. All these things cost money so I've got my little saving head on - staying away from the Topshop and Boots websites is proving to be a difficult task but I'm soldiering on!

Oh yeah and I'm pretty sure Google Reader is supposed to be disappearing any day now, so catch me over on Bloglovin' if you don't want to lose me!

Keep it real guys.
